Syncing up with a buddy!

Hello fellow travelers! While I know there is a tutorial out there on youtube about how to sync up with someone you know, I found it too much? I mean total props for the person who made it! :) But I have been able to sync up with my boyfriend multiple times. We always do the same thing an get placed together every time. And it’s not as lengthy?

Basically, you can’t both enter the portal to the next stage at the same time. One of you has to go through first, and the other person around 6-10 seconds later. The person who went first should travel probably to the farthest right or left based on personal preference. Sit down and meditate for a couple of seconds. The second person will try to make their way there to where the first person is. Both of you should see each other this way. Even at the bridge level. No need to travel so far just to meet up!

Surprisingly, if you manage to lose each other in a stage, don’t fret. Just agree to meet in a certain place. Once again one of you needs to meditate for a few seconds and wait for the other person. If not, at the portal for the next stage, do the same thing. Let one person go first and the other a few moments later. Remember to meditate! It serves sort of a reset/refresh when it comes to meeting up.

We’ve tested this out a few times. We lost each other around 12 times in the course of the same Journey, some on purpose, (some.. not on purpose >.>) and managed to find each other again no problem using that formula. Hope this helps any other people wanting to have a buddy they know to share a Journey together.

If any of you have any questions about syncing up, just holler and I’ll try to help you out the best I can!

Oh and a big shout-out to all the people who submit their stories! I get so happy and it makes my day reading all of your adventures! I don’t know any of you, and I don’t know if I’ve played a Journey together. But if we haven’t, I’d love to! And if we have, I LOVE YOU STRANGER!

so in journey someone drew me an apple at the end. I tried to make a worm come out of it but it looked more or less like a random glass shard stabbing it to death. :I

and then we just started drawin everywhere

This game is my absolute new addiction. It’s absolutely amazing. I’ve had some incredible journeys with it, my favorite by far being on my 3rd time through. I traveled with someone who was a beginner, and I showed them where every thing I could remember was. I could tell they were extremely grateful by the way they’d chirp at me. The best experience though was their absolute trust in me. When we got to the monsters section it was remarkable how well we could communicate just with chirps. They were able to understand my warnings and navigate through with me, even though we did get spotted, it was still amazing. I hope I can play with him/her again!

Trudging up the mountain in the shin-deep snow.  The wind cutting everything around us, my companion and I went on.  Each time we diverged, our scarves dwindled like dying candles, and that’s when you realize something:  you are keeping each other alive.  Hiding behind the serpentine slabs as the gusts came and went, we huddled together, a faint glow emanating from our bodies.  I can honestly say I felt a more tangible, communal, and emotional connection to this masked shade than many of the people I know in real life.

I’ve never experienced a game so beautiful.  So connecting.

No, you’re not alone. It’s not just you. People interpret this game so differently and so personally - it means something different to me and teaches me something new every time I play it. I can only talk about what it means to me, what it makes me think about. (After the read more - the last thing I would ever want to do is spoil anyone for this game. Please don’t read this if you haven’t played this game.)

“Definitely inspired by Journey - the fact that so many people made friends. It’s nice to hear that a game can bring people closer together and create more trust. I want all [my] future games to have that kind of quality.” —Jenova Chen of thatgamecompany talking to Gamesindustry.biz about his next game. (via brogamer)
