I highly recommend that readers play through the game for themselves at least once before reading about the experience.

I had been following this game from it’s announcement to it’s release.  From the first trailer I knew that it was going to be special and that it would change the way we view video games.  I was at the end of my junior year, but as I had transferred it was my first time away from home.  My suite mates thought I was crazy when I turned off the lights and played Journey for the first time; they couldn’t know how I’d been waiting for this or how it would come to affect me.  

My first playthrough left me speechless and crying on the couch in the dark.  Few things have moved me like Journey did.  Going through each ‘level’ that so clearly to me represented stages of the life cycle I was stunned.  My own journey has been so hard and harrowing it somehow provided a sense of closure for me.  I’ve always been so afraid of the end, of dying, but Journey changed that perception too.  Death is also a part of the journey we take, and after we go onto something new.  My sincerest thanks to Thatgamecompany; Journey was beyond words and an unparalleled achievement.
