I want to share some of my fanfics and works in the community, but I’m just either too shy or too scared people might say I’m so boastful, when I just want to share it with others. I kinda have the courage now and the help from one of my friends, so I got some Journey x flOw fanfics in here, I hope you don’t mind ;u;
I’m so sorry for bothering you, and thanks for making this awesome blog as always ;u;
-Journey is an amazing inspiration for writing. Despite never playing with a companion before, I felt the need to put this type of experience into words.-
At first you had been skeptical. You didn’t think it was worth it; crossing the desert, traversing the ruins, climbing the temple. “All to get to the top of the mountain?” you had asked. “What a waste of energy.” Yet as we journeyed on, I noticed how even when the sun hid behind rocks and ruins your face remained glowing. Your tone of voice got warmer even as the damp coolness of the underground sank into our bones. Despite being tired and hungry, you stayed with me every step and you hardly complained. I saw that smile, however faint it was, as we swam up through the temple with the cloth creatures. I chirped with them, and though you remained silent I could tell you were just as content. We reached the base of the mountain, where we encountered the “robotic bird” as you called it and its horrid metal sound. You were angry at it, I could tell, as you waited for it to turn the other way to sneak across the snowy terrain. After learning and even watching what it had done to the civilization you were furious; mad with grief. But what really hit me the most was when the weather began to change. It was colder than ever and we’d started to freeze over. You still kept going. I thought at this point you were more motivated than I was to reach the summit. We almost gave up, after falling into the snow and sinking into a deep sleep. When the warmth of the sages gave back our energy, you held out your hand for me and I knew you had changed. You even smiled at me. No longer bitter with the world, as I had hoped the journey would make you. “Ready?” I asked. And without a moment’s hesitation, we flew.
Well here it is, a poem I wrote about Journey! I hope you enjoy it!
This is the story,
of how I once traveled the mightiest desert.
Yellow, pinks and oranges shook in their quake.
A sandy sea, I beheld,
while riding atop the friendliest of jellyfish, and
the glistening white mountain,
may have been frozen and unwelcoming,
but while I stumbled, fell back down,
I did what I could, I went only forward.
This is the tale,
of how I learned the fate of my people.
Once a mighty civilization,
we were one with the sand,
flying over the dunes with each other.
That was until the metal dragons,
clanking with mechanics,
clamped down upon our lives,
tearing off our souls.
I may be the lone survivor of my people,
but what one cannot see, one can feel.
Most importantly, this is the journey,
of love and friendship.
Wait for me, my sole companion,
and we shall fly once more together.
I will protect you, and you protect me,
for stepping forward may be difficult,
but pain is easier shared than shouldered.
For my companion, it is you,
who shines brighter than the sand,
or even the snow.
It is you, whose name I do not know,
but whose character I have memorized.
Every line, every shape of you I know,
and it is you,
who never fails to pick me off my feet,
and it is you,
who truly makes my journey complete.
So I was reading “The Dragons at War” today (a collection of short stories and such), and I came upon a bit of a poem that made me think of Journey. So I thought I’d share it. The poem itself is entitled “Dream of the Namer” by Michael Williams.
The part that caught my fancy was this:
"Oh do not expect
there is ever an ending,
for even the sunlight
that closes around me
masks a nation of shadows,
the sigh of the desert
drowns out the wails
of the buried and beaten,
and do not believe
this is changing,
that the endings are happy,
that the cycle of seasons
awaits an eventual spring,
that the sunrise riding
the wake of the darkness
is more than a mutual dream.”
I hope I passed along something that can only be felt deep within your being, a feeling that is not fleeting, but which strikes your very core.
Genre: Adventure, drama, romance, family
Characters: Journey person (named Matu), OC
Synopsis: He made a promise and he intended to keep it… But fate was trying to make him think otherwise.
Warnings: Mild swearing, spoilers, angst, fluff (just in case you are not fond of fluff; I know some who are not, so I’m just going to leave this here)
Author’s notes: I’ve been
stalking following this blog because not only do I love this game with the white-hot passion of a thousand suns, but I wanted to write something Journey-related for a while and this seemed like a good blog to submit and share my stuff. I waited because I had no idea what I wanted to write until today.
I… suppose this could be considered a Father’s Day tribute. I sort of wrote this spontaneously for no reason other than it seemed like a really good idea at the time.
I know this piece looks really rushed. I was too eager to finish it and I literally started and finished this today. I might go back and edit it
brutally. …This is might be, by far, the most cheesiest thing I have ever written *flops on the floor*.
This is not mine, but I came across it and enjoyed it SO much! This person started writing a story about Journey and what they have so far is so wonderful! It’s like a bedtime story! Lol! I haven’t checked yet again to see if they added more but I really really hope they do. Click the link and read it. I couldn’t stop reading :) I plan on writing a story myself. Finding time is the only thing keeping me. I already have an outline in my head and I’m going to post each chapter here as soon as I can. Anyhoo enjoy! :D
This is really just an extended poem, but it was suggested to me by the beautifully wonderful Aquari of the tgc forums that I post it here, so here I am! I hope you all enjoy reading my rendition of Journey, THE EXPERIENCE :D
I am the Journeyman,
The blossom blooming,
Deep within you,
In your soul’s heart.
It is the End,
The Beginning is the End,
And the End is the Beginning,
Trust in the Path.
These are the things tears are made of,
The nightmares of mothers,
Guardians of the dead,
They alight at the passing of the living.
Sand, sand, sand.
Every grain of sand a magickal thing,
The perfect drops of light home to you and all around you,
Down to the smallest of grains.
The First Lesson of many,
Frivolity made tangible.
They are babies born upon the wind,
Connecting only with songs.
Your voice is a glowing thing,
Filling and lighting the hearts of others,
Nature’s sweetest of calls,
Bearing the Goddess’ greatest of gifts.
A creature of immense power,
With a loving gaze,
And knowing eyes,
Watches over you.
The Broken Bridge
A land of broken toys,
The forgotten remains of a selfish child,
Fixed by a fellow forgotten soul,
Oh how fun they still can be.
The Pink Desert
An alien land,
A home you never knew,
Even the colors of the world,
Turn on their heads.
Angels of the desert,
Clothed in the skins of mortal things,
Innocently playing innocent,
Yet leading you with siren calls.
Rescuing what is trapped,
The bellies of beasts torn open,
The victims of past crimes rise again,
Calling their joys into the sky.
Dashing down, down, down,
Leaping through the air,
Before plummeting back to the earth,
Faster, faster, faster!
The sun bleeds crimson across the sand,
A phantom city the backdrop,
Dancing your way through day’s death.
Silence pervades the air,
Footfalls echo wrongly,
Like gunshots in paradise,
The night will swallow you whole.
Life of the desert,
The flow of the shadows,
Creatures who need not breathe,
A sea with no water.
Horrid beasts that dwell in the dark corners of your mind,
Within the shadows of past societies,
That corner of your vision where you most fear to look,
Fear the light where no light shines.
The green light,
Once peaceful friend now turned foe,
That searing red,
The ripping fabric of your bygone peace.
Sins of the Fathers.
This land of sand,
The bleeding heart of your people,
Calls for love,
And hates in turn.
The shock is gone,
The creatures defeated,
Light triumphs all,
And turns back the tides of doubt.
The White-Gold Tower.
Songs resound all around,
The heart fills with memories relived,
Dancing tapestries within the streams of time,
The true form of the beast lies within.
An ancient mother of all stands watch,
The Journey played out for a wide-eyed child,
The future grimly uncertain,
Oh Mother, the child cannot stop now!
Up the Mountain.
The winds rage against you,
Ice begins to seep into your soul,
Vultures in demon form dance overhead,
Waiting for those who would dare fail now.
The child begs in his heart,
Don’t let it end,
Not this way,
It is done,
Ice, Wind, Demons,
And finally defeat,
Did your heart falter?
The divines take pity on their children,
The ones who do not give up hope,
Just take one step further.
True Paradise Awaits.
The soul soars where the body cannot follow,
And the dance of a thousand joys begins,
Flight and fancy meet,
Where Heaven and mortality collide.
The beacon of hope,
What it really is,
Only the child knows.
All things must come to an end,
Unless you are on an endless Journey.
It is the End,
The Beginning is the End,
And the End is the Beginning,
Trust in that Path.
